Private Coaching with Roberto Giobbi

Whether you have only recently discovered the fascinating world of magic or have been practicing it for many years, private coaching offers you the opportunity to develop your skills, gain new insights, and look at the art of magic from a different perspective.

The idea is not merely to understand how something is done, but, more importantly, why it is done that way—and how it might be done even better.

I offer several forms of private instruction, depending on your interests, needs, and possibilities.

1. Online Coaching via Microsoft Teams

A 75-minute session costs €150.

If you book four sessions (€600), you will receive a fifth session free of charge.

Online coaching is particularly well suited to discussing tricks and routines, exploring technical and theoretical questions, and developing your repertoire.

2. In-Person Coaching at my Studio in Muttenz, Switzerland

A two-hour session (120 minutes) costs €250.

If you book four sessions (€1,000), you will receive a fifth session free of charge.

Alternatively, you may book a course of eight two-hour sessions for a total of €1,500.

3. How Does a Coaching Session Work?

Experience has shown that you will benefit most from a coaching session if you begin by performing a trick or routine that you believe you already do well.

We then analyze the performance together, discussing the how, where, and why: technique, construction, presentation, psychology, and all those details that can turn a good trick into an even better one.

In the process, numerous questions and insights invariably arise that go far beyond the particular trick under discussion. Many of these can be applied to other tricks and routines, and indeed to the entire art of magic.

Such an analysis can easily occupy an entire 75-minute session—and occasionally even that is not enough …

Of course, you may also simply come with your questions. Whether they concern a particular trick, a sleight, the construction of a program, the study of magic, or more fundamental questions of theory and practice, I shall be happy to answer anything that falls within my area of expertise.

It is helpful if you send me a brief outline of the subjects and questions you would like to discuss before our meeting. This allows me to prepare accordingly and ensures that we make the best possible use of our time together.

4. Arranging an Appointment

If you are interested in a coaching session, please submit the form below, suggesting three possible dates and times.

I shall do my best to reply within 24 hours.

5. Payment

Online Coaching: Payment in advance by bank transfer, in euros, with no bank charges for either party (for Europe), or via PayPal (worldwide).

In-Person Coaching: Payment in cash at the end of the session.

6. A Special Alternative: The Magic Coaching Dinner

For those who enjoy combining the useful with the pleasurable, I offer the Magic Coaching Dinner.

This combines an intensive private coaching session with a subsequent multi-course dinner at my home. If you wish, you may invite a guest to join us for the aperitif and dinner—at no additional charge.

Here is how the afternoon and evening unfold:

  • 2:30 PM: Arrival and welcome drink.

  • 3:00–6:00 PM: Intensive private coaching lasting a good three hours.

  • 6:15–7:00 PM: Aperitif. Your guest may join us at this point.

  • From 7:00 PM onward: A multi-course dinner accompanied by carefully selected wines, followed by coffee, digestifs, and, for those so inclined, a cigar. As for when the evening ends, that remains an open question …

I do the cooking myself, with considerable pleasure and no small amount of ambition. Naturally, you are welcome to tell me what you prefer not to eat or cannot eat. However, this offer is intended for guests who generally enjoy a wide variety of foods. Unfortunately, I cannot accommodate strictly vegetarian or vegan diets, or severe food allergies. My culinary skills simply do not extend that far—at least not if I am to live up to my own standards …

Price: €600, all-inclusive, including one guest for the aperitif and dinner.

Payment is made in cash at the end of the evening.

An additional benefit: You may complement the Magic Coaching Dinner with products from my webshop, whether as a gift to yourself or to a fellow magician. You will receive a 25% discount on these products.

7. Alternatives to Private Coaching

If personal coaching is not an option for you, I recommend my comprehensive video courses (in English):

  • Card College 1 & 2 – Personal Instruction

  • Card College 3 & 4 – Personal Instruction

  • Card Magic Masterclass

You will find these courses, along with several other video seminars, in my webshop.

The two Card College – Personal Instruction courses, in particular, come remarkably close to a systematically structured course of private instruction. They even offer one additional advantage: You can repeat the lessons as often as you wish—and the teacher will never lose his patience …

Interested?

If any of these offers appeals to you, or if you have further questions, simply submit the form below.

I look forward to working with you, not only on tricks and routines, but also to thinking together about the art of magic.
